Students from grade-3 to grade-7 will be given the exposure for shopping; they will have to buy the things of their need, pay the amount and take the change if required… All by themselves without anybody’s supervision or a cashier’s.
This is initiated to inculcate the value called honesty, trust and belief in oneself. As there would be nobody in the shop, the child can indulge in wrong things but over a period he understands how to be honest even when no one is watching him.
Vignan Schools on Saturday organizes ‘no book day’, on which value-tree is the activity we conduct. As we know in the present fast-moving world, we sometimes happen to see that children are forgetting the fundamental values of the life, and this is a point of concern as they are the future of the nation. So, in the activity called value tree we place many values in chits and hang them on the tree and a child will pick a chit as per his choice. The child has to practice that value in his day-today-life, which will help them later.
Value vocabulary is a program, in which a teacher will display several life enhancing phrases on the display board and children have to use them in their daily life. In this way, they not only improve their communication but also would practice values through this activity.
